Nagami Kumquats are one of the most popular varieties in the Kumquat family.  And why wouldn't they? With a tart-sweet flavor that can’t be beat, the real flavor of Nagami Kumquats is in the rind/peel itself! When you bite into them, you get that wonderful burst of tart citrus flavor, then comes the sweetness from the peel! You can eat them “as-is,” peel and all, or as many people like to do, you can make a marmalade-preserve with them. Imagine that on your morning toast! Yummy!

If you like the juicy citrus taste of mandarins, and you like a little sweet-tart "kick" of flavor, then these small, oval shaped flavor packed Nagami Kumquats are sure to please! The rind is orange and thinner than other varieties of kumquats. The flesh is orange, “sweet-tart” and acidic, and does contains a few seeds. Nagamis are quite versatile to enjoy. Think of all the great ways you can use them in your kitchen…you can eat them as is as a healthful snack, or sliced up in salads for that added “zing” of flavor. Of course they are awesome when used purees. The juice can be used in marinades or cocktails, and even made into syrup. And think of how flavorful a vinaigrette salad dressing would be with that tangy citrus flavor Yum-O!  B-T-W... Nagamis will keep up to two weeks when refrigerated.

Perfection!

For anyone who loves kumquats, this variety is one of the most versatile money can buy. Each fruit in its entirety is the perfect size, shape, texture and taste for inclusion in almost any dish you may be preparing. They add just the right amount of zest to fruit cups, and provide just the right amount of acidity and color to chicken dishes; and eaten just as they are, they are a healthful, delicious snack, providing a perfect balance of sweet and sour, chewiness and juiciness. They are also wonderful when julienned and used as a garnish on salads or creamy desserts; and sliced thin, they are the perfect complement to cheeses in sandwiches. I ordered these as a gift for my husband. Five pounds of these little gems have not lasted long in our household, and my guy is very particular about what he eats. Wish I'd ordered more!

Great product

Great product- great price compared to the small amount you can buy at the grocery store. We got 5 pounds and my wife made a quart of preserved kumquats (exactly like preserved lemons, but with kumquats) that we'll cook with and I made a pint of simple marmalade. I probably have enough for another pint of marmalade.
