Discover a "taste for gold" when you bite into these delicious, California grown, Oroblanco Grapefruit from Pearson Ranch. Referring to the subtle "white" flesh of the fruit, oro blanco in Spanish literally means "white gold." Though the technical name of the variety is spelled as one word (Oroblanco), it is commonly accepted spelled as two separate words. Either way, oroblanco or oro blanco grapefruit is a cross between a pomelo and a white grapefruit. Sometimes also referred to as a "Sweetie", they are indeed sweet while lacking the bitterness of a common grapefruit. With a thicker skin, they are as easy to peel as an orange, and filled with up to 110% of the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C' in each one, you will be eager to start your day at the breakfast table ready to... "go for the gold!

When are Oroblancos available?

Oroblancos have a rather short harvesting season. They are typically available from Mid November thru April. Due to their limited quantities and short season, annual market pricing will also vary from season to season. Please call Pearson Ranch at 1-888-667-2643 to check on availability!

When to buy the Oroblancos you want. When ordering Oroblancos in mid November, the exterior is still GREEN and will start to turn yellow as the season progresses. But don't worry, that sweet, delicious, citrusy flavor and fragrance is already there!! However, if you want to make sure your Oroblancos arrive with a YELLOW exterior, you can wait until the first part of January to place your order at which time they should be full color!

Disappointed. Not up to quality of past purchases. Many grapefruit were already soft but not sweet.

The best

The pro blanco grapefruit are sweet tart and the most refreshing fruit. I am addicted to them! I eat them daily when in season and miss them when they are gone!

I have missed eating oro blanco grapfruits since moving away from California to Colorado. They were already hard to find in California and non existent here! I'm so glad I a friend of mine told me about Pearson Ranch! Their Oro Blanco's are amazing.

I love Orobloncos

The flavor of this grapefruit is very unique: sweet and delicate. A dear cousin bought an order for me as a gift several years ago. Ever since, I buy a few full orders a season, and I look forward to winter, in part, because of these Orobloncos. I have never received a spoiled shipment and I savor every last grapefruit. Oroblanco are my favorites!

Received my order and have eaten a grapefruit every day. Oroblanco grapefruit are my favorite citrus. I crave them and look forward to the (sadly) short harvest season. The order arrived in a timely manner. Possibly the *only* disappointment was the number of smaller grapefruit in the box. The smaller ones tend to be less juicy, less sweet. While I don't expect EVERY fruit to be perfect and I understand a variety of sizes will be included, there seemed to be a bit more than I expected. (about a third of the order)

Beyond that small disappointment, I am overall pleased with the quality and plan to order more while they are still available!
